Carcassonne, medieval fortified city, has been part of Unesco World Heritage since 1997 and was restored by one of the greatest French architects, Eugène Viollet-Leduc. The medieval walled city is currently partially decorated by the artist Felice Varini, adding to its splendour.

Carcassonne, the producers stayed in the beautiful Hôtel de la Cité located in the very heart of the citadel. In the morning, they followed their guide through the palace and its intricate fortifications.
